The City of Eden Prairie is a distinctive community with preserved natural beauty within the metro area. Public beaches, fishing piers, skating rinks, community gardens, tennis courts and baseball
fields are just some of the amenities that make life enjoyable in Eden Prairie.
Eden Prairie is one of the
only cities within the metro
area where residents enjoy more than 4,500 acres of
open space wetlands,
including the beautiful
views of 17 lakes and more than 100 ponds.
The City has more than 1,000 acres of active use parkland. Bikers, hikers and walkers enjoy Eden Prairie's nearly 200 miles of sidewalks and trails.
The Parks and Natural Resources Division is responsible for providing and maintaining the comprehensive park and open space system. Wildlife management, forestry management and maintenance of the park and trail properties are a top priority.
With all Eden Prairie has to offer, it’s no wonder so many special events are planned in its parks and recreational facilities. Whether it’s an impromptu picnic or a planned event, Eden Prairie's facilities provide a welcoming environment.
