Nancy Tyra-Lukens was elected as mayor of Eden Prairie in the November 2010 election, having previously served on the
City Council from 1994 through 2001 and as mayor from 2002 through 2006. Her current term will end Dec. 31, 2014.
Tyra-Lukens has also served the community on numerous boards and commissions, including the Suburban Transit Association, the Southwest Transit Commission and the Family Housing Fund. She is currently serving on the
Eden Prairie Community Foundation Board of Directors.
Tyra-Lukens earned a master’s degree in nutritional biochemistry from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in finance and business administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
